Pierre Leyers
Pierre Leyers is the Financial Editor of Luxembourg's leading national newspaper, the Luxemburger Wort, directing a dedicated team of journalists in the field of finance and economics. Now aged 51, he studied history in Paris and first entered into the world of journalism through his love of writing, a profession he never wavered from, right up to the present day in his respected editorial position. With 24 years of journalism under his belt, he has worked in many areas, with the past fifteen being dedicated to economic and finance reporting with a focus on the Luxembourg Financial Centre. His speciality being his wide knowledge of the world steel industry. Always seeking new challenges, Pierre now has taken on the role of heading up a new English news website for Luxembourg due to be launched later this year, tapping into his long history of journalism experience, especially in Luxembourg affairs, to reach a wider audience. Pierre is married with two children and enjoys reading science fiction novels in his spare time.
